Ohio - 2007 trip

October 2007, Columbus, Ohio

Introduction    (click here to skip to menu)

A movie released in August of this year, The King of Kong, co-stars none other than yours truly - CAGDC webmaster Mark Alpiger.  Because of the limited distribution, I had to go out of town in order to see the movie, and ended up choosing Columbus, Ohio.  My nephew, who lives in town, along with a Twin Galaxies staff member, J.D. Lowe, took in the film with me.  J.D. also brought along an eclectic entourage, and we all enjoyed seeing the film as a group, and discussing it afterward.

Here is my picture coverage of my trip to Ohio.  For now, captions only appear on this page, but will eventually appear on the individual pages that come up when you click on a thumbnail below.  There are 2 pictures, and both were taken the day of the movie - Saturday, October 6th.

After seeing the movie and having dinner, (L-R) Dan, Dennis and
J.D. Lowe pose for this shot, which shows the theater sign above them.

The previous shot's group joins
me (Mark Alpiger, far right) for
a photo, taken by a passerby.

Mark Alpiger's video

Here is my video coverage of my trip to Ohio.  I had my nephew take video of me approaching the theater, entering, and going up to get tickets.  Like my pictures, this was taken on Saturday, October 6th.

My nephew Nick, who accompanied me to see The King of Kong movie, shot footage of my entering the Drexel Gateway theater, and I just had to do it - I decided to start things out in a 'mock' way, as you'll see.  Well, after that, it was all real, including the security guard who stopped our taping.  Oh, well, you'll still get to see a little of the theater, plus the funny beginning to the clip.
