Members Area introductory page

    Welcome to the Members Area on CAGDC.  Here, you'll find an expansion on the already large volume of exclusive classic arcade gaming content available on my web site.  To identify a page on my site as having content that's for 'members only', look for a members area logo at the top right of a page on my site.  By clicking on it, you will be taken to a page in the members directory that is a duplication of the one that you were on, albeit, with the members only content.

    So, what kind of content can you expect, both now, and in the (near) future ?  Well, how about the original, large-sized (in most cases, at least 2 1/2 times) versions of the digicam pictures that you've seen and enjoyed on my site ?  You'll get them from all the various contests and events, like Funspot, California Extreme, and CGEUK, and there will even be a few from exclusive trips that I've taken over the years (like: to Atari in California; to see Walter Day's abode in Fairfield, Iowa; and many more).  In addition, I will have the original scans of contest result papers, entry forms, and other documents, plus scans of other score sources (like the Guinness book, and from magazines like Top Score).  This will allow you to inspect the original, and compare it (if you wish) to the text versions on my web site.  For a detailed description of all of the current Members content, click the I agree button at the bottom of this page (after, of course, agreeing to the requirements).

    Now, how do you become a member ?  Well, the good news is, it doesn't cost anything (that is, unless you want it to !).  Basically, you get free membership (for six months) when you: 1) join the CAGDC forums; 2) make at least one 'real' post every six months; and 3) put your real first name, and (optionally) your last name / last initial, in either your forums signature, and / or under your avatar.  See - it's as simple as 1-2-3 !  But, for those few that prefer not to join a forum, or make posts, you can still gain membership, by paying (via credit card or PayPal account) a $5 fee, which is good for six months of membership.

    As great as the Members Area is, the Elite Members Area offers even more in the way of unique and useful material.  It's available to the 'brave few' who have made 60+ 'real' posts on my website's forums.  In the E.M.A., you'll find links to both on, and off, site files, like MAME game ROMS, and PDF and regular scans of arcade game manuals and contest guides (specifically, the 1986 and 1987 Video Game Masters Tournaments).  I'll also be giving access to the 'cutting room floor' pictures from my site.  That's right - there are always a number that don't make the cut, for whatever reason (repetitive, out-of-focus, or, whatever), but with this feature, you'll be able to see them, and decide for yourself if they're good or not !

    Now, just like the regular area, you can also pay to join this 'Elite' area, instead of posting.  The cost (which will also grant you access to the regular Members Area, of course) will be $10, for six months.

    Alright, now that the details are out of the way, let's get down to it.  Simply read the short user agreement below, click the button if you agree, and if you wish to proceed to any of the content listed on the next page, then enter your forums member / user name in the User Name box, and the password in the Password box, and you'll be on your way...  Note: the password is not the same one as your forums password, and it will only be mailed to you after you qualify for membership.  If you have made a post on the forums, and have your real name (as described above) in the signature box and / or under your avatar, and you've not received your password via e-mail yet, then you can with a Members Area password request.

    By clicking the button below, and proceeding, you agree that the material in both the regular, and the Elite, Members Area is for your personal use only.  That means no posting of any of this material (altered or not), in any way, on the Internet, and also, no distributing of any of this material via e-mail, media, or any other means.  Finally, you agree not to share your password, or Members Area access, with anyone, for any reason.
